Vocational Scholarship
The Hood River Lions Club is offering five $1,000.00 scholarships to qualified graduating high school seniors in Hood River County who are planning to attend a community college trade/tech program or other program resulting in a vocational degree or certificate. Following completion of the program, the student should be eligible for employment.
A committee of Lions Club members will determine the recipients for the five scholarships. The committee’s decisions are final. The scholarships will be payable upon successful enrollment in a post-high school educational program. Checks will be mailed to the school’s financial aid office following completion of Student Information Form and documentation of enrollment in the school’s program. The student has up to one year following graduation to claim the scholarship but must request a deferment by contacting Lions Club Scholarship Chairperson prior to September 30 if the student does not intend to use the funds in the upcoming school year.
CRITERIA
Applicants must:
- Attend a post-high school program resulting in a vocational /trade/tech certification or degree, that results in school to work.
- Show career and leadership growth potential and motivation.

Include ANY other information you feel will be helpful to the scholarship committee.
The student provides consent to Hood River Lions Club to use his/her name and/or picture in any news or promotional materials in the event the applicant is selected to receive a scholarship award
