Monte Steven Hull was born and raised in Hood River, Oregon. The culture, people, and beautiful surroundings were always a part of his soul. He loved sports, the outdoors, and making sure everyone that crossed his path became a friend. His upbringing in Hood River was centered on his love for team sports and he seemingly excelled at everything he attempted. He was the consummate team leader, teammate, and personified the “never give up” spirit.
Monte’s passing impacted everyone who knew him, regardless for 45 minutes or 45 years. We have established this scholarship to keep his spirit alive and to recognize student athletes from Hood River Valley High School who embody the qualities that Monte displayed on and off the the court and playing field.
This scholarship is one $1000 award for a graduating HRVHS student athlete who will attend a 2 or 4 year college/university.
CRITERIA
- Student participated in basketball, baseball or softball their senior year
- Student embodies the qualities and characteristics that made Monte the incredible teammate and leader. These include examples of inclusivity (helping all teammates regardless of skill or ability), sportsmanship (playing fair and with integrity), and inspiration (showing true team pride).
