Rotary is a worldwide organization that carries out service and humanitarian projects, promotes integrity, and advances world understanding, goodwill, and peace through a fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. Rotary members have a long record of addressing challenges both locally and globally. The Rotary motto is “Service Above Self.”
The Hood River Rotary Club serves the local community by providing scholarships to help high school students pursue their career goals—whether through a vocational school, community college, or four-year college or university. The Club seeks applicants who have demonstrated commitment to their families, school, and community through their actions, activities, and academic achievement. Consideration is also given to applicants who have faced unique financial or life challenges during their high school years.
Funding for these scholarships is made possible by community fundraising events held throughout the year. Applicants are encouraged to learn more about the Hood River Rotary Club by attending a lunch meeting, participating in a fundraising event, interviewing a Rotarian, or visiting the Club’s website.
Award Amount: $2,500–$3,000
