
In 2015, the GTA proudly launched the Corwin Hardham Memorial Scholarship fund with the first award given in 2016. This scholarship is awarded annually to Gorge high school seniors pursuing post-secondary degrees in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM). Eligible students are those from Hood River, Wasco, Sherman, Skamania and Klickitat Counties who are graduating from high school, home school or receiving a GED in the spring/ summer.
CRITERIA
- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) activities past/present, including intention to pursue a STEM-related degree. Art-oriented STEM projects are also of interest.
- Financial need
- Academic merit
SUPPLEMENTS
- Essay: Tell us about yourself. Consider including your educational/career goals, including STEM degree aspirations, community activities, and financial conditions or life circumstances that contribute to your need for a scholarship (one page, 11 pt. font, single-spaced).
- Two Confidential Evaluation Forms (not from a relative) that can be from an employer, teacher, or school counselor.
- Résumé. List the high school, community, and organizational activities in which you have participated during the past two years. Include recognition or achievements you have attained (scholarships, honors, awards, etc.). Please remember to note all STEM-related and art-oriented activities.
