Duckwall Fruit will award two annual scholarships to graduating seniors from Hood River Valley High School. The scholarships will be in the amount of $2,500.00 each, and will be for the purpose of obtaining additional education at: a trade school, a 2 year, or a 4 year certified college program.
The money will be awarded upon the successful completion of one full college term or semester and verified enrollment for the second term or semester.
Emphasis for selection shall be on academic performance, participation in school activities and demonstrated citizenship. The student shall be selected by the high school principal or designee and other committee members as identified by the principal.
Duckwall Fruit will not be involved in the selection process, except to clarify scholarship criteria.
CRITERIA
- A cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher
- A well-rounded activity and academic program
- Demonstrated citizenship and community service
SUPPLEMENTAL
- Essay: The lessons we take from life experiences can be fundamental to later success. Describe a challenge/setback, event, accomplishment, or realization that sparked personal growth and deepened your understanding of yourself or others. In your response, explain how this experience influenced your perspective or shaped who you are today.
